When planning the trip we realized that BB was going to turn 5 months old while we were on the hobo cruise. This made me a little sad knowing we would be in the middle of a huge move with a lot of commotion going on and I was afraid we would forget and lose the milestone. Fortunately, we didn’t forget. We even had a fellow passenger wish her a happy 5 month birthday! She was quite the attraction on the hobo cruise. All the passengers wanted to see her or make faces at her. I am sure she did not mind the attention one bit.
Our plans for the day included…well nothing, it was a full day of cruising and with no tv, internet, or cell service we just planned to take advantage and relax. However, we did not really know what the trip would entail, cruising wise. Neither of us had been on a ferry and didn’t know the route they had planned or what cruising in open water would be like. That being said, D and BB were not prepared for the open water part of the trip. The water got really rough and everyone on the boat felt it. I was on the highest dose of motion sickness pills already since I knew there was a likely chance even the smooth water would bother me but D and BB were doing good so far. That changed all to fast, D started to loose his color and BB got really fussy. I ran to the room and grabbed the motion sickness pills for D and colic tabs for BB. Once we got D taken care of and BB cleaned up from getting sick and asleep we just rode out the waves. We learned, and neither D nor BB really got sick again.
The rest of the day was filled with naps, playing, seeing the views, and lots of relaxing. There was an announcement made that there were whales but both times BB and D were sleeping so we didn’t get to see them even though I would jump up and frantically grab my shoes to go.
Needless to say, BB had a great 5th month celebration.
