Our first Visitors

My mom and D’s mom have come and gone now. My mom flew in on a Wednesday and left Saturday and D’s mom flew in that same Saturday and we said our see you laters on Tuesday morning (This was all over Mothers day weekend). The week that I was preparing for for so long has come and gone and I am now sort of sad that its gone. It seems like just as I was getting used to our routine and getting the hang of everything our mom’s come up and I realized that I still do really miss them and having family around.

Our visits although fast were amazing.

My mom came up and we managed to cram every second with sight seeing exploring and catching up. While my mom was here we experienced a lot of firsts and I wont lie it made me appreciate our little mountain home so much more. It was so nice to have my mom here and to get to show off our town. My parent’s, grandmother, and aunt and uncle will be here on a cruise on June 1st and so we did a lot of exploring to see what might be some fun things for them to do. We went on the Tram and drove out to see if we could make it to the other end of the road. We saw a bear, which was sort of funny because my mom is always the one that asks us about seeing bears! We did a lot of hiking and quite a bit of shopping. She really spoiled us. We also did a lot of just chatting. I think it sort of threw off BB for me to have someone else to talk to and I didn’t talk her ear off. It was so good to have my mom here and the goodbyes were just as hard, if not a little harder than the first ones. There is just something about having your mommy near by. She made me feel really special for my first mothers day and we tried to make her feel equally as special. I am so thankful for the time we got together even if it felt way too short, it’s really odd being so far away from her.

D’s mom flew in Saturday night and since BB got to sleep in late that morning we fudged her bedtime so she could pick her Nana up at the airport. D’s mom’s visit felt really fast but we managed to treat her on mothers day and give her a taste of our awesome mountain town. I like to think we made her mother’s day really special. The next day we sort of took it easy gave BB a chance to catch up on a little sleep and then we went for a picnic and a hike that afternoon. We went out to a really nice, tasty dinner that night and it was good to just spend some time hanging out. Like my mom the time felt too short but also like my mom there are plans in the near future to see her again.

We are so thankful for the time we got with them and it was really special that they got to come up around mother’s day. We had so much fun showing them our home and I can’t wait to see them again.

Next on our visitor calendar, D’s Sister, then my family’s cruise!

It will be/has been a very busy month. But busy in the best of ways!!
