Holy cow, this month has gone fast. The more and more BB is mobile the busier and faster time seems to fly. Additionally we went on a jam packed “vacation” this month back to Arizona. BB has been keeping us busy and our house, well let’s just say there is no doubt we live here. I need a sign on the door that says my house was clean but BB lives here.
This month BB:
- Eats just about anything we let her, Halibut, Salmon, Quinoa, broccoli, squash, spinach, peas, you name it, she would probably eat it.
- Loves to take things out of containers and cabinets and recently learned how to take things out of the drawers in the kitchen (thank goodness we were prepared when we moved in and all the baby friendly items are at her level)
- She loves attention and usually is quite the ham when she knows people are watching
- As much as she likes taking things out of containers she is finally starting to put things back in
- She survived a whole day with her dad, and LOVED it! (I had no doubts that they would really enjoy the day)
- She shopped till she dropped
- She experienced Phoenix in the middle of the summer (hello 113*)
- She was baptized
- She attended her first wedding and talked the entire time (LOUDLY) and sort of stole the show for the unimportant parts (Sorry Missy)
- She flew on an airplane again!
- She is crawling and cruising all over the place now
- D and I noticed that more and more she will reach for our hands so we can walk with her
- She wants so desperately to walk
- She loves to explore and discover new things
- Still loves swimming
- Still loves making new friends and being around other little kids
- We’ve learned that she has personal space issues, she has a bubble and really doesn’t like people in it
- She made her first Build-A-Bear
- Had her first experience with the stomach flu (twice)
Her stats:
- Weighs 17 lbs 6 oz (D said I should stop posting her weight on the internet for all to see, “It’s rude to talk about ladies weight”)
- She walks slightly assisted (holds both hands but mainly just for balance) and loves it!
- She crawls the right way now and is REALLY fast
- She still sits on her own
- She is getting really strong and when she is determined she can manage to wiggle out of your arms or takes some serious wrestling to keep her laying down
- Talks with more intent now. Instead of just babbling she seems to actually tell us things or will look at D and say Dada, or R and say her name or something that sounds even close.
- Claps and knows two signs, milk and more (we are still working on more to be more consistent, as well as adding more signs as we go)
- She likes to laugh at just about anything
- She makes all sorts of fun noises, pops her lips, talks while sticking her tongue out, blows raspberries, and pats her hand over her mouth while making noises
There is no doubt that she keeps us on our toes but she also keeps us laughing all the time. Her personality is shining through and she is such a goof ball. I am so proud to be her momma and I know that she is going to be such a strong, beautiful, sweet lady. I am holding on to the moments I still have with my sweet baby knowing that any day now she is going to grow right out of my arms and be a toddler. There have been a few instances where she was fighting naps or struggling to sleep (Thanks a lot developmental leaps, growing, and sleep regressions) and she just wants to cuddle and only sleeps in my arms. These times I try to forget what I need to get done and just be there, in the moment, and soak in as much tender time as I can because I know these moments are fleeting. It’s about time we have to start looking for and keeping track of shoes for this kid, all of this in addition to chasing her down and keeping track of her. We are going to have our hands full!!

The more I look at these pictures the more evident it is that BB has not been sleeping as well. Most of these pictures to me at least are her struggling to stay awake. Laying on R and playing with her toys laying down… pretty out of character for this tiny bundle of energy.
