We love this kid so much. She has such a fun goofy personality and as we’ve learned ourselves and been told she is very strong willed. She is a lady that knows what she wants and she knows how to get it. She is so much fun and lately she has been all about dad. I don’t blame her I like hanging out with him too! She is so much about dad that when he tries to hand her to me or put her down she cries. I don’t mind that they are so close. Yes, i would always love to hang out with and play with her but there is something really special about their relationship and I wouldn’t change a thing.

She has started to take 8-10 steps and is ready to explore. We are working on getting her to stand up on her own and then she is going to be off! It is so much fun watching her figure out this walking thing and we are so proud of her. It is a bittersweet accomplishment but seriously it’s so much fun to celebrate with her. She is getting more and more daring every day.

She loves to eat. She has now had; Reindeer, Halibut, Salmon, Chicken, Ground beef, kiwi, banana, salmon chorizo, peach, pear, prunes, apple, grape, broccoli, pineapple, squash, toast, potato, sweet potato, black beans, pinto beans, butternut squash, carrots, avocado, spinach, peas, kale, mango, quinoa, red onion, tomato and many other things (it’s hard to keep track we typically just give her things off our plate!). She is such a good eater. She is braver than I am trying new foods! I love that she is fearless about new things. We keep trying to find new things to feed her so if you have any idea’s we are happy to give them a try! Pumpkin is coming up on the menu as is barley!

BB is so curious about everything, she likes to point at things and ask That? (which is more of just “da”) but we have gone around naming everything in our house and everything she can see as we go out. She is also quite the talker. She loves to talk and make noises. More often than not we will all be hanging out and we will ask her something and at the best times she will say something that sounds exactly like a sarcastic response or just a very blunt response. The day to day is a lot of fun with this kid. There have been so many times when D and I look at each other after she answers one of our questions or says something and we ask each other if she really just said that.

BB has adjusted to Juneau quite well. She is eager to get out and play outside and she doesn’t care, rain or shine, in fact she prefers rain. She has a pair of tiny rain boots that she LOVES to wear! I am sort of worried what is going to happen when she out grows them (we aren’t too worried yet they are almost 2 sizes too big, and yes she still wears them everywhere). She also has been grabbing at her rain suit when we start getting ready to go outside. Most people sort of shelter themselves from the rain, naturally, but not BB. She tries to pull her hood off and will hold her hands out or up to feel the rain. There is nothing that can squash her sunshine.

BB and R are good friends most days and she thinks that R licking her and playing with her is the funniest thing. BB’s laughter is like sunshine. She is so happy and it is so easy to make her laugh. A fun game we have been playing lately is chase. She loves when we chase her around the house and she crawls away laughing. Also in the mornings I will throw her in bed with D while I finish getting us ready to leave and any time I walk into the room she quickly crawls up to D and cuddles into him laughing as if to shy away from me.

She also lately has been trying to make new sounds. She really likes to go blahla blahla blahla blahla, and rolling her r’s. She is such a character. She also loves to talk into cups. The first thing she does when she get’s an empty cup is to yell into it and see what she sounds like. She likes to cover her mouth and yell moving her hand back and forth to her mouth. Basically she has a lot to say and she is not shy expressing herself.

As I said at the beginning, we are smitten by this little lady. I don’t know how we got such a good, cute one but we are not going to trade her for anything. She keeps us on our toes and she keeps us very busy but she lights up our lives like nothing else could!
