D and I made an exception to BB’s bed time (ish) and went out to capture the Northern Lights. While they happen often in Juneau the chance that it’s a clear night is more rare so we had to take advantage of the forecast (in both the weather and the aurora activity). We set out at 8 and spent a while just practicing and realized we really needed a tripod. So off to trusty ole Walmart we went to get a Tripod. All the while BB is sleeping in the car. We tried two different spots and got to see some minor activity but to us it was thrilling. I am not sure about D but I was buzzing with excitement. You could see the lights with the naked eye and that was so exciting! I was able to capture some photos and did full on happy dances when I saw them. I realize we have a lot of practice to do and most of these photos are blurry. Keep your eyes out for more photos to come. Well the next time we have a clear night with the forecast of aurora activity!
