A week with two special people!

BB’s Nana and Tata came to town this last week, and we are so happy they made it. BB was beside herself and loved spending time with them. It’s so fun to see them play and interact with BB. Also, as parents it’s refreshing to have someone compliment how advanced or smart your kiddo is. It’s always a little bit of a reality slap when we have family visit because they don’t see our crazy kiddo every day so all the talking and sassing she does is more noticeable and often pointed out and it brings to light things that you don’t pick up on as much when you’re in the every day.

We went on lots of walks, hikes, and adventures while they were here. We spent the 4th of July together and while we didn’t make it to the fireworks again this year BB got to enjoy and appreciate the shows that our neighbors were putting on. We went to the beach and the parades and had tons of fun!

The best part of this visit is how well BB is at expressing herself and the power she has over her grandparents. There were many times when I knew they were doing things that were out of their comfort zone just to see her smile. Talk about unconditional, selfless love! Either that or they both just have a soft spot for a certain someone saying as sweet as she can, “please Tata”.

We miss them already, saying goodbye is always so very hard and BB is getting to the age where she sort of gets it. She had a hard time saying goodbye and when we didn’t go see them as soon as she woke up this morning she was a little confused and upset. We are trying to help her understand and I am confident she will be okay but it’s sad that she gets so attached and then they leave.

If we are being 100% honest I think we all get attached and are all a little bummed after they leave. It’s just that D and I have to act like adults about it and know that throwing ourselves on the floor crying for them wont bring them back any sooner!

We see them soon, and can’t wait to see how excited BB is to see and play with them again!
