Day 7: We made it!!

We arrived in Juneau, AK at 4:15 a.m. and we were off the ferry by 4:25. We checked into the extended stay and rested up before really starting our day. Around 11 we decided to stop being bums and go figure stuff out. We went to find our storage unit and planned to put a few things in it so we didn’t do it all at once the next day but ended up unloading the entire uhaul that afternoon. This process went surprisingly smooth compared to the fiasco I had played out in my head. We were done unloading and repacking in about 2 hours and only suffered one minor injury. And can I just say, thank goodness it all fit!

We returned the uhaul and went to meet D’s coworker about the mother in law apartment. I still cannot express how grateful I am for her generosity and offer to let us stay. She rented it out to us on a weekly basis so we didn’t feel committed and she extended her offer for as long as we needed. Once we got the keys we decided we did enough for one day and spent the rest of the night relaxing.

This trip left us both feeling like we were in a sort of a whirlwind and we knew we were going to need a little time and a little more patience until everything got adjusted but finally being here really made it sink in that this spectacular place was our new home and the beginning of a new chapter for us.
