39 weeks

BB has officially been out in the real world as long as she was tucked safely away in my tummy… somehow it seems like there is no way it’s already been that long! This week was a little tough. BB was either working on getting teeth, not feeling well, or just was having a tough couple days. On top of that it was 4th of July weekend which is a big deal in Juneau. That meant staying up WAY past bedtime despite mom and dad trying to get her to bed (not in her own bed), then being out and about during nap time with a lot of people and action going on. To say this next week will be a recovery week is an understatement.

This week BB liked:

  • Cuddles (for the first half of the week at least)
  • Sleep, she slept a lot this week
  • Dancing
  • Practicing her crawl
  • Playing at the playground
  • Extra time with her daddy
  • Exploring and playing with R
  • Following D, R and I everywhere we go
  • Playing in the grass
  • Bath time
  • Meeting new members of the family
  • Quiet play time
  • Baby Planks (she gets in plank position or will get in downward dog position … she is a fitness fan already! Must take after her dad)

She wasn’t a fan of:

  • Having people touch her or get in her bubble
  • Being put down (again the first part of the week)
  • Not feeling well
  • Eating real food (she sort of lost interest in eating this week, toward the end of the week she seemed like she was getting it back)
  • Not being able to crawl as fast as she thinks she should be able to
  • Missing naps and mom and dad trying to get her to fall asleep with lots of fun going on around her
  • Being woken up by a marching bad (although she slept through the emergency vehicles sirens and semi’s honking?)

Favorite toy:

  • R, anything that makes music, essentially anything she can get her hands on

Accomplishment:

  • She went from laying/crawling to sitting!
  • She has taken a few steps crawling on hands and knees and not army crawling!!

Random snippet:
BB’S hair is getting so long! We’ve been putting it in pig tails as I’m sure you’ve seen to keep it out of her eyes. The after math of pigtails (and a nights rest) is pretty intense. Additionally, when we don’t comb it down after a bath and it’s allowed to air dry it is crazy too!! This girl has got some crazy cute hair!
